Jaguar introduced its new model the XK150 in two versions in May 1957, the Fixed Head Coupe and the Droped head Coupe, both replacing the XK140 series. The Roadster (OTS Open Two Seater) was released in March 1958.
All models used the XK140 chassis but with a much more modern body and for the first time had a curved one-piece windshield. The interior had also been modified to replace the walnut veneer with leather trim. Mechanically there were also important changes, mounted 4 Dunlop disc brakes and power brakes, unlike the drum brakes of the XK140.
The 3.4 liter engine was also further tuned and the SE specification with two carburettors delivered 190 hp, there was also an S version available with 3 carburettors with a capacity of 250 hp. This power was achieved through a new design of the straight port cylinder head. In 1959 a 3.8 liter engine became available with 220 HP in the standard form and 265 HP in the “S” version. Production of all XK150 models ended in 1961.
Between 1958 and 1961, a total of 9,382 XK150 models were built, of which 1,466 were fitted with an S specification. Of these, 888 pieces were delivered in the OTS / roadster version.
This XK150S roadster was imported from California USA to the Netherlands in 1987, the last American owner lived in Glendale, California and owned the car from 1978 to 1987, original American registration document is still present.
