For sale beautiful Jaguar XK140DHC (Drop Head Coupe) SE version. Built on 22 October 1956 and shipped on 5 November 1956 to Toronto, Canada through Budd & Dyer, the Jaguar importer in Montreal and delivered to the first owner Mrs. D. Carlisle from Toronto, Ontario.
A Heritage certificate is present and the stamped numbers in the engine block, cylinder head and gearbox correspond to the certificate. This is a SE version, these were supplied with a dual exhaust system, wire wheels, windscreen washers, special air filters and two fog lamps on the front. Between 1954 and 1957, a total of 2.310 left-hand XK140 Drop Head Coupes were built.
This Drop Head Coupe was imported from Canada and fully body-off restored in the Netherlands. The current owner bought the car in 2013 when the restoration was just finished and has now driven a total of approximately 9,000 km with the car with great pleasure. The combination of the brown leather interior with the Old English White exterior completes this XK and is beautiful to see.
The following options are mounted on this XK140: Aluminum radiator with built-in eclectic cooling fan, Nardi wooden sports steering wheel, 2 mirrors, KM odometer, Sand-cast HD8 SU carburetors, Vredestein Classic tires, mohair hood cover, chrome wire wheels, two fog lamps on the front and a master switch.
The Jaguar XK140 was the successor of the XK120 and came on the market in 1954. The XK140 was a further development of the XK120 and had almost the same appearance. The bumpers have become thicker, the grill has been slightly modified, flashing lights have been placed on the front and the steeringbox has been turned into a rack and pinion steering, which improved driving behavior.
The XK140 was available in 3 versions: XK140DHC (Drop Head Coupe), XK140OTS (Open Two Seater) and XK140FHC (Fixed Head Coupe). In 1957 it was succeeded by the XK150.
